A UNESCO world heritage site, Lunenburg has a long, proud sailing and maritime history. Founded in 1753, it is home to the world-famous schooner Bluenose II.
Note: As an historic town, accessibility to public places is limited by architectural restrictions on heritage properties, and by geography. Hills are steep. Many shops, restaurants, and parks on sloped sites are inaccessible to wheelchairs. Please call or plan ahead to avoid disappointment.
